Mapping global health at IHME

If you were to make a list of UW-affiliated organizations doing world-class work…well…you would have long list. Certainly, somewhere near the top is the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). If you are unfamiliar with their work, this somewhat dated article is a good introduction.
I was pleased to attend a talk on Wednesday by Christina Woods at the IHME’s Belltown offices highlighting the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in world health research. She recently advised the IHME’s implementation of a web-based global health GIS application, shown below.
